Alan recently joined the team at Chrometoaster after a long stint in old London. Much of that time was spent designing and developing websites for government – no mean feat given the high level of accessibility of e-govt. compliance required. Now a bit of an expert in CSS, government compliance and accessibility, he doesn’t shy away from the difficult task of creating compliant code and grappling with multiple browsers at once.
Alan originally hails from across the Tasman, where he worked for the hip travel publishing company Lonely Planet. He also worked as a web designer/developer at the National gallery of Victoria – a most venerable Melbourne institution.
He graduated from the Australian National University with a fine arts degree, majoring in Photography and went on to complete his Masters in multimedia from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
With one solo exhibition and several group exhibitions under his belt, he eventually made the natural transition across from visual arts into web design where he could continue his passion for all things interactive and screen based.
