Six years ago Dave started Chrometoaster with his co-conspirator in design, Michael Sly. Mike and Dave had identified a need to support young design students in acquiring commercial experience.

Dave has an uncanny ability to meld creativity with technology and is one of the few 'creatives' around that has a handle on design aspects as well as new technology.

He has worked with clients as diverse as Weta Digital, Discovery Channel, Southern Traverse, Fringe Film Festivals, Maximum Availability, Industrial Research Limited, Positively Wellington Business and Adam Art Gallery.

Dave played a central role in developing the content management system and web presence for the Adventure Racing World Championships. The system supported 3 million unique site visitors a day. In addition, the information-rich nature and extensive scale of the site allowed Dave to refine his already substantial usability expertise. The site was recognised by WETA's Website Excellence and Tourism Award, a New Zealand usability award body, and was the first site to be entered into their hall of fame.

Dave's passion for moving images has driven his involvement in the multimedia, video and film industries. In addition to his role as Creative Director at Chrometoaster, Dave has worked on international projects such as the post-production of The Lord of the Rings.

Dave won a DAC photography scholarship during his tenure at The Wellington School of Design.
