Footnote Theatre
Chrometoaster is a long-standing supporter of Footnote – New Zealand's national contemporary dance company. Since 2004 we have been providing award-winning creative for their promotional material, corporate collateral and website.
Working with the photography of Dean Zillwood, the evocative designs celebrate the spirit, energy and uniqueness of each dance season. For example, the 2010 Forte Series imagery was created from a photo shoot earlier in the year. The combination of bold, quirky typography, vibrant colours and playful imagery demanded a second look. Designed with the street paste up in mind, the up and down ‘movement’ of the posters also reflected the essence of Footnote's captivating contemporary dance.
Footnote’s established Made in New Zealand season brings together emerging and well respected New Zealand talent to create and perform new dance works that are 100% home grown.
The diptych uses dancers captured in positions of the North and South Islands. This concept communicated both the name of the season and how the programme was developed – the coming together of the choreographic/dance team and musicians to make performances that celebrate New Zealand dance.
