The Kererū Discovery Project was an initiative between Te Papa, Wellington Zoo, Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre and Victoria University to encourage public activity to increase the number of Kererū in the Wellington region.
The family-friendly brand and educational interactive kiosk that we developed was hugely popular. The Urban Jungle game won the 2006 TUANZ Interactive Award for Education.
With the number of Kererū increasing now after decades of decline, we like to think we've helped a little by increasing awareness and understanding of how to promote a thriving population living in our backyard.
