NZ On Screen
NZ On Screen
NZ On Screen is a NZ On Air initiative that showcases New Zealand’s rich moving-image culture. We developed the brand identity with its extensive and playful visual palette. Moving screens, large typography and pixel-perfect Māori pattern are brought together to give a modern day sense of kiwiana-flavoured nostalgia and national identity.
Primarily an online brand, the design strategy for the site needed to be sympathetic to a wide variety of content from video to user generated content and allow the site to grow. We continue to provide information architecture, design, front-end development and video advice services and we work closely with the NZ On Screen team and YouDo, who manage the website’s development. The website has grown immensely over the years we have been working on it, and it continues to grow and develop as technologies change and new ways of viewing video content become commonplace.
Its awards and accolades are a tribute to the dedicated team behind it.
So whether you’re a film buff looking for industry comments and stories or just wanting to see the first episode of Gloss, Hudson and Halls or films such as Patu! or Whale Rider, you can watch something you will love, in your own time, for free.
