Government Property and Procurement
Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
A focus on clarity delivered a highly usable All-of-Government contracts supplier search and well organised technical information.
MBIE helps government agencies and suppliers understand the complexities of the procurement and contracting process, ensure adherence to legislative responsibilities, and provide more and easier-to-find information to users. They also offer property management compliance information for government agencies and service providers.
Many organisations struggled to make good use of procurement related resources because of dated and poorly organised online resources. The Government Property information was located on the MBIE corporate website and was not easy to find.
Our challenge was to combine the content for the Procurement and Property groups into a single cohesive portal, with a visual design that worked for both brands.
Chrometoaster redesigned and redeveloped the tools, resources, and templates, improving their usability, making them easier to maintain. We completely restructured the content and navigation of both sites for better findability and ease of use.
A vital feature of the new site is the Contracts Search and the supplier area which enables government agencies and users to research the companies that are on the All of Government supplier panels. Integration with MBIE’s CRM via RealMe login provides restricted access to commercially sensitive contract information.
Chrometoaster provided information architecture and content design services, visual design, front-end and back-end development to this project, including API integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and RealMe. We worked closely with the MBIE team and other technical and content suppliers throughout the project.
Built on the NZ Government's Common Web Platform (CWP) SilverStripe CMS, integrating with RealMe and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
